The Fig Tree
Jesus told a parable about a useless fig tree that wouldn’t produce figs.  The purpose of a fig tree is to bear fruit.  In the same way, the Lord encourages us to be Fruitful In Gratitude to Him.

March 13-14
The Prodigal Sons
That “S” on the end of “Son” is not a misprint.  Luke 15 tells the story of not just one but two sons who are lost, and a patient and forgiving Father who loves both of them.

March 20-21
Winning the Prize             
Everyone likes to win, but the apostle Paul urges us to keep our focus on the ultimate victory.  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 3:14 

March 27-28
Palm Sunday
Join us as we celebrate the beginning of Holy Week, with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and shouts of “Hosanna”.

April 1
Maundy Thursday      
On Maundy Thursday we remember how Jesus instituted the Sacrament of the Altar, giving us His very body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.  Join us for our 7 p.m. Communion Service.

April 2
Good Friday                
On Good Friday we look at the great lengths God went to as he bought us back from slavery to sin through His sacrificial death on the cross.  Join us for our 7 p.m. Service of Darkness.

April 4
Easter Sunday

Lenten Sermon Series  -  HIStory
The passion of Jesus Christ is not just history, it is also HIS STORY.  A story of incredible sacrifice and amazing love.  His Story becomes Our Story by faith, when we understand the reason Christ endured the cross for each one of us.  Join us Wednesday nights at 7:00 for the greatest story ever told, join us for “HIStory.”

 

Risen Christ Lutheran Church
25th Anniversary
1958-2010

On Sunday, May 19, 1985, 53 individuals signed a charter and a constitution, organizing a new Missouri Synod congregation in northwest Davenport:  Risen Christ Lutheran Church.  Over the next 25 years, the Lord would work in this congregation and through this congregation to proclaim the Good News of salvation in our community and make disciples of Jesus Christ through Word and Sacrament.   This year marks our 25th anniversary and to honor this occasion we will have a special celebration on  the weekend of June 12th & 13th.  But all throughout this year we will  celebrate God’s goodness and His grace.  In response to God’s faithfulness, we Rejoice, Give Thanks & Sing!

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy!    Psalm 126:3
