>Frequently Asked Questions
- When
are worship services?
Sundays 8:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
Wednesdays 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays 5:30 p.m. (Contemporary)
- Is
Risen Christ a Bible-based church?
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God,
and is the sole authority for everything we believe, teach and confess.
- What
is the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod?
The LCMS is the denomination to which Risen Christ belongs. It is
a denomination of 2.7 million members and 6,100 churches, united
by our common belief in God's Word, the Bible. The word Missouri
is included in the name because the denomination was founded in
that state in the year 1847.
- What
is the policy of Holy Communion at Risen Christ?
In accordance with the position of the Lutheran Church-Missouri
Synod, we ask that all those who participate in Holy Communion be
confirmed members of the LCMS. This practice is not intended to
exclude or offend anyone, but rather reflects our sincere desire
to be faithful to God's Word. All those desiring to commune who
are not confirmed members of Risen Christ should speak first with
the pastor.
- How
do I become a member of Risen Christ?
It
is required of all communicant members of Risen Christ to have been
baptized into the Christian faith and confirmed in the Lutheran
Church. All those who have been confirmed in a Missouri Synod Lutheran
Church may transfer their membership from their previous congregation.
Those who have not been confirmed may become confirmed by taking
the Adult Instruction Class with the pastor.
- I
have more questions, who should I ask?
Please
feel free to contact the pastor or the church office at (563) 386-2342
or you can send an email to: pastorlarson@risenchristdavenport.org
