This Week's Calendar ANSWERS IN GENESIS—with Ken Ham: Learn from Ken Ham, the founder of the Creation Museum and Answers in Genesis, how to answer the tough questions that people ask about the Bible: Are there dinosaurs in the Bible? Did God create the world in a literal 6 days? Why is there death and suffering? If you’ve wondered about these questions, or would like to be able to answer those who do ask them, join us for “Answers in Genesis” a video Bible study in the sanctuary each week at 9:15 a.m. Lutheran World Relief As your family prepares to return to school this fall consider buying additional school supplies for LWR school kits. The items needed for the school kits include: wide ruled notebooks, blunt scissors, a ruler with centimeters, pencil sharpener, new unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers, one 2 1/2 inch eraser, construction paper, boxes of 16 or 24 crayons, 12 inch by 14 inch style sturdy cloth bag with cloth handle or drawstring. Place you donations in the box in the fellowship hall. Mission Speaker Gary Thies, LCMS Mission Development Counselor, will be giving a presentation at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, on Saturday evening, July 31st at 6:30. Light refreshments will be served. Gary would love to share with you the exciting news of what is really happening in missions in the LCMS! The Complete Creation Peter wrote in his 1st epistle “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.” Creation science evangelism can give you that defense. Ian Juby’s “The Complete Creation” video series will be presented at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, starting Wednesday, September 16th at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The videos will be shown in 11 parts every other Wednesday. Hosting the series will be Justin Mann. Worship Bags Risen Christ was given several worship bags that are now located just outside the sanctuary for families to use. Included in these worship bags are crayons, a coloring book, and a notebook for children to enjoy. Encourage them to participate in worship as they color and draw images from the church.
