This Week's Calendar Lenten Sermon Series - HIStory The passion of Jesus Christ is not just history, it is also HIS STORY. A story of incredible sacrifice and amazing love. His Story becomes Our Story by faith, when we understand the reason Christ endured the cross for each one of us. Join us Wednesday nights at 7:00 for the greatest story ever told, join us for “HIStory.” Emergency assistance for Haiti is badly needed. Donations may be placed in the donation box in the Fellowship Hall through February 21st. All donations will go to LCMS World Relief and Human Care for their disaster response efforts in Haiti. The Complete Creation Peter wrote in his 1st epistle “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.” Creation science evangelism can give you that defense. Ian Juby’s “The Complete Creation” video series will be presented at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, starting Wednesday, September 16th at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The videos will be shown in 11 parts every other Wednesday. Hosting the series will be Justin Mann. Worship Bags Risen Christ was given several worship bags that are now located just outside the sanctuary for families to use. Included in these worship bags are crayons, a coloring book, and a notebook for children to enjoy. Encourage them to participate in worship as they color and draw images from the church. The East Side Mission “Who will tell them about Jesus” For many of these Sunday School students starting line in life was way behind yours and mine. And life for them continues to be hard. If the Gospel doesn’t reach this generation, the local mosque or drug dealer may reach them instead. The East Side Mission desperately needs Sunday School teachers. Please call and volunteer your time. Do it for them.
